Honigman Elects Partners to Board of Directors

Detroit-based Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP has elected Karen Pifer and Stanley Pitts to its board of directors for four-year terms. 

Pifer is a member of Honigman’s Real Estate Department in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office. Pitts is a member of Honigman’s Labor and Employment Department in the Detroit office.

Pifer, of Birmingham, advises and represents clients in a variety of real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale, development, financing, and leasing of shopping centers, hotels, and office buildings. She also serves Honigman as the Bloomfield Hills office co-managing partner.

Pifer earned her bachelor’s from Albion College and her juris doctor from the University of Michigan. 

Pitts, of Bloomfield Township, focuses on the defense of employers facing labor and employment challenges. He defends individual and class action lawsuits at the state and federal level, and provides assistance during administrative agency investigations. Pitts also serves Honigman as chair of its Committee on Minority Attorney Initiatives.

He earned his bachelor’s and his juris doctor from Wayne State University.
