Heber Fuger Wendin Names New Chairman, President & CEO

BLOOMFIELD HILLS  — Heber Fuger Wendin Inc.  has named David G. Barnes its new chairman, president and cheif operating officer. 

Barnes, who had been chairman of Heber, now leads Heber in managing $4.5 billion in assets under management for more than 100 clients across the Midwest and South, which include community banks, credit unions, hospitals, trust accounts, insurance companies and foundations in addition to individuals.

“I am very pleased to be leading operations at the Heber team,” Barnes said. “I look forward to building on Heber’s 79 year record of providing sound investment advice to clients and further growing Heber’s reputation as a conservative, independent, objective ,and prudent investment counsel for both institutions and individuals.” 

Before this appointment, Barnes was chairman of Heber’s board of directors, a position he held since 2002. Prior Barnes was vice chairman and became a board director in 1987. Barnes has also held executive positions in the in the automotive industry in addition to experience in the health care industry. 

 Barnes earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and a BA from Michigan State University.  He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is a FINRA Registered Investment Advisor Representative.
