Michigan Women Forward, an organization that encourages women to play an active role in philanthropy and governance based in Detroit, announced Hannah Heebner has been promoted to development director.

In her new role, she will be responsible for all fundraising, cultivation of donors, donor appeals, grant writing, and social media management. She also will create and execute marketing and communications strategies.

“Hannah has been an asset to our team for more than two years and is well deserving of this promotion,” says Carolyn Cassin, MWF president and CEO. “We are excited to see how she improves our fundraising initiatives while empowering the next generation of women.”

Heebner began her career at MWF in 2019 as the development and communications manager. In this role, she initiated Power Forward, the organization’s membership group for women rising in their careers and communities. She also developed communications strategies, created marketing materials, and oversaw the intern program.

Before joining MWF, she spent time in marketing, communications, and fundraising with numerous nonprofits. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications studies and English in 2013 and a master’s degree in social work in 2019, both from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
