Greenleaf Trust Names New President

KALAMAZOO —  Greenleaf Trust, a Michigan-chartered trust-only bank, announced today that Michael F. Odar has been promoted to president, effective immediately. Greenleaf Trust Board of Directors, by unanimous consent, approved the appointment on Nov.14. William D. Johnston will remain Chairman of the Board.

Odar, an employee of Greenleaf Trust for 13 years, previously served as senior executive vice president of Strategic Initiatives, senior research analyst, director of research, and director of wealth management. He earned his degree in Finance from Michigan State University, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and recently completed the Advanced Management Program at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He resides in Hickory Corners with his wife, Jennifer, and two sons, Evan and Joe.

Chairman William Johnston, in naming Odar to the new position, said, “I am truly excited that we have a strong talent in Mike, who will lead our company forward to accomplish our ever present journey to be the best fiduciary in our industry. In addition to his role at Greenleaf Trust, Odar serves as chair of the Bronson Foundation Board, serves on the Investment Committee of the Western Michigan University Foundation Board, the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation and the Finance Committee of The United Way.
