Great Lakes Water Authority Marks Leadership Change for 2025

The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) Board of Directors has elected new officers: Mark L. Miller, board representative appointed by the state of Michigan, is board chair; John J. Zech, board representative appointed by Wayne County, is vice chair; and Jaye Quadrozzi, board representative appointed by Oakland County, is secretary. The new officers will each serve a one-year term that started Jan. 1.

The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) Board of Directors has elected new officers: Mark L. Miller, board representative appointed by the state of Michigan, is board chair; John J. Zech, board representative appointed by Wayne County, is vice chair; and Jaye Quadrozzi, board representative appointed by Oakland County, is secretary. The new officers will each serve a one-year term that started Jan. 1.

Miller, appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in 2023 to represent areas served by GLWA outside of Detroit and the counties of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb, is a retired General Motors Global Executive of Supply Chain. Throughout his nearly 40-year career, he received awards and recognition for his leadership and stellar performance in supply chain, warehousing and logistics. However, for the last two years, Miller has served as interim president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, where he now serves as chairman of its Board of Trustees. Miller also serves on the Board of Directors for the McLaren Hospital-Flint and the McLaren Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration and business management from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University.

Zech, appointed to the board by Wayne County Executive Warren Evans in 2020, has more than 40 years of public service experience. He has served in leadership roles with several communities across southeast Michigan including the cities of Wayne, Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Plymouth Township, and Southgate. Zech has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Municipal League. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Quadrozzi, appointed by Oakland County Executive David Coulter in 2019, is an attorney with more than 20 years’ experience in complex commercial litigation in both federal and state courts. She has also served as Oakland County representative on the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority Board of Commissioners since 2013. Quadrozzi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School.
