Great Lakes Ace Hardware Celebrates 47 Grand Openings

FARMINGTON HILLS — After months of renovations and rebranding, Great Lakes Ace Hardware stores will celebrate the grand opening of its 47 stores throughout Michigan on Saturday with special events and giveaways.

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Great Lakes Ace Hardware in Southfield, 29201 Greenfield Rd., will have a meet and greet and live radio broadcast with Glenn Haege, host of the “Handyman Show with Glenn Haege,” on WJR-AM (760-AM).

A variety of product demonstrations and giveaways will take place throughout the day from vendors such as Scotts, Rapid Fix, 3M, Fresh Wave, DTE Energy, Valspar, Uncle Rays, Lipari, Concrobium Mold Solutions and Faygo. Additionally, the Southfield Fire Department will be on hand from noon-2 p.m. to discuss Fire Prevention Week.

“This is our way of saying thanks to all of our returning customers, welcoming new customers and showcasing products,” said Mark VandenBerg, president of Great Lakes Ace Hardware.

Giveaways will be available at all 47 Great Lakes Ace Hardware stores, including a grand prize, totaling more than $1,000 in retail value. Among the individual products each store will be giving away are a Weber Spirit Grill; Craftsman Tool Chest; a leaf blower, rake and yard bags; two gallons of Valspar paint; Craftsman drill and two $25 Great Lakes Ace cards.

Other Great Lakes Ace Hardware locations hosting radio remotes on Saturday include: Macomb (Jim Johnson, WOMC-FM), Roseville (Beau Daniels, WOMC-FM), Union Lake (Roxanne, 98.7 AMP Radio), Southgate (Jason “The 300 Pound Cowboy”, WYCD-FM) and Westland (97.1 The Ticket Street Team).

In January, Ace Hardware announced it was transitioning more than 50 ACO Hardware stores across Michigan into Ace stores.
