Southfield-based automotive part manufacturer Piston Group has named Gordon R. Fournier COO and CFO.

The move, which was effective March 16, will have Fournier managing the group’s overall operational performance, including financial management, planning and reporting, treasury functions, and financing for Piston Group companies such as Piston Automotive, Irvin Automotive Products and AIREA, and the group’s controlling interest in Detroit Thermal Systems.

“Gordon’s strong operational and financial background across multiple industries, coupled with his global experience provides the ideal competencies to manage our company’s performance and strategic growth,” says Vinnie Johnson, founder, chairman, and CEO of Piston Group.  “We look forward to his leadership and contributions to our team.”

Fournier, who holds a master’s degree from Michigan State University, was previously the president of Masco Cabinetry where he was also named CFO of the year in 2016. He also served in financial leaderships roles for Johnson Controls Inc. and Varta Autobatterie GmbH in Germany before joining Masco.

Piston Group was founded in 1995 by Vinnie Johnson, former NBA champion, and employs nearly 10,000 people at more than 20 locations across North America.
