Goodwill Announces Jennifer Merz as Vice President of Fund Development

Jennifer Merz has been named vice president of fund development for nonprofit organization Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. In her role, Merz will be responsible for creating long term development to diversify funding.

“We are thrilled to have Jennifer join our team,” says Dan Varner, president and CEO of Goodwill Detroit. “She will bring valuable expertise and energy to our fund development efforts.”

Merz brings more than 15 years of nonprofit experience to Goodwill. Prior to joining the company, Merz has served Banfield Pet Hospital Foundation as director of development, PetSmart, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the Goodwill Detroit family,” says Merz. “This is an organization that is inarguably changing the landscape of the communities we live, work, and play in.”

Merz graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
