GNS North America, a Tier 1 automotive supplier of hot stamped components and assemblies with facilities in Canton Township and Grand Rapids, announced that Mike Alcala has transitioned from the CEO position to the role of vice chairman and Chris Eisenhart has been promoted from COO to CEO.

In his new role, Alcala will oversee the C-suite leadership team executives, business planning processes, market and customer strategy, and leadership development.

Under his direction, Alcala led the design and implementation of the restructuring of GNS NA in 2020, implementing a business operating model, financial reporting approach, and performance-oriented culture that transformed the company. As a result, GNS NA has continued to make consistent and sustainable improvements, earned industry recognition with GNS NA customers and is growing with existing and new customers.

“Under Mike’s direction, GNS NA has greatly strengthened its leadership position in the automotive industry,” says M.G. Kong, chairman of GDS NA. “We are pleased that his guidance will continue in his new role for the years to come.”

The new CEO, Eisenhart, will continue to report to Alcala. Eisenhart played an instrumental leadership role in improving operations and in the development and enhancement of business processes. He has also worked to further develop the organization, resulting in sustainable performance at all levels. This role completes the transition that started one year ago.

“GNS will continue to operate with a consistent leadership team, successful business model, focus on people and serving our customers,” says Alcala. “Chris Eisenhart has demonstrated excellent performance, and I congratulate him on his promotion to CEO.”
