Gift of Life Michigan in Ann Arbor named Dr. Damanpreet Bedi, Rachel Kuntzsch, and Sarah Scantamburlo to its governing board of directors.

Dr. Damanpreet Bedi,
Dr. Damanpreet Bedi

Bedi is a transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon at Corewell Health Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak. He and his team specialize in kidney failure, liver failure, tumors of the liver, and pancreas. He has more than 19 years of experience in the field and is on Hour Detroit Magazine’s Top Docs List 2023.

Kuntzsch is president at Public Sector Consultants in Lansing and is a heart transplant recipient. She was helped pass the Check Your Heart Act which added the donor registry question to state income tax forms. Michigan was the first in the nation to do so. Her expertise in public policy and her experience as a heart recipient is expected to bring valuable insight to the board of 20 members.

Sarah Scantamburlo

Scantamburlo of Novi is a physician assistant at CNS Healthcare. As a three-time kidney transplant recipient, she has personal experience on how waiting for a transplant affects a patient’s mental health. Her advocacy for mental health for waiting patients will support Gift of Life’s efforts to promote physical, mental, and whole-body wellness.
