Sanford (Sandy) Ring has been named executive vice president and general counsel of Ghafari Associates, an architecture, engineering, consulting, and construction management organization.
Ring, of East Lansing, will provide general legal advice to Ghafari leadership and staff on issues regarding risk management, regulatory compliance, commercial matters, and other operational concerns. He will also offer support on the firm’s involvement with government and community relations, and business development activities.
Ring is currently the vice-chairman of the board of directors of the Michigan Manufacturers Association and has served as the chief operating/business development officer of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Ring served as the chief legal counsel to two chairpersons of the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. He also served as senior vice president and general counsel at Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc., and a Toyota Group Company. He was a partner in private practice with the firms of Honigman and Dykema.
Ring earned a Bachelor of Arts at Michigan State University — James Madison College and earned his juris doctor at Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
