Van Dyke Horn Public Relations (VDH), a minority-owned public relations agency based in Detroit, announced Georgella Muirhead has been chosen to serve as the agency’s interim CEO.
Muirhead returns to a central role in VDH’s leadership team to replace Peter Van Dyke concluded his term as CEO to explore other opportunities. Muirhead co-founded Berg Muirhead and Associates with Bob Berg in 1996, which was bought and rebranded in 2016 by Van Dyke and Marilyn Horn.
“We are thrilled to have Georgella back at the helm of our agency,” says Horn, president of Van Dyke Horn. “Her deep expertise in strategic planning, public and media relations, stakeholder engagement, and community relations, coupled with a long history of working and collaborating with the city and state’s top business, political and community leaders, are a benefit to the Van Dyke Horn team, and to our clients, with next-level integrity, creativity, and knowledge.”
An industry veteran and an accredited member (APR) of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Muirhead’s career includes 24 years as a government public relations administrator in the cities of Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Southfield, and Detroit.
“I look forward to this exciting opportunity to once again work closely with our team of public relations experts and amazing clients,” says Muirhead. “Van Dyke Horn has always considered solving the challenges and celebrating the successes of our clients as personally as if they are our own. That legacy continues, and I am excited to get started.”
