George Johnson & Company Hires New COO

DETROIT — George Johnson & Company, one of Southeast Michigan’s largest certified public accounting and professional services firms, has hired Kenneth G. Fiema as chief operating officer.

Fiema joins GJC with more than 30 years of experience providing senior-level counsel and financial service to a range of businesses and nonprofit institutions. In his new position, he will focus on planning, directing and controlling the day-to-day operations as GJC grows its client base.

“We’re excited to welcome Fiema to the team,” GJC Managing Director George G. Johnson said. “His extensive background in entrepreneurial know-how and financial forecasting will be influential to the continued growth of the company.”

Prior to joining GJC, Fiema served as the vice president-administration and CFO at NextEnergy Center in Detroit where he provided strategic counsel to limit financial and operational risks. Before that, he served as the vice president and CFO at Global Technology Associates located in Dearborn where he helped orchestrate the company’s revenue growth from $80,000 to $36 million in 12 years.

 Fiema is a CPA and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Detroit and a BS in Accounting from Wayne State University.
