Oakland Community College’s Culinary Studies Institute and Macomb Community College Applied Technologies Programs have been awarded $70,000 each from The Garden Party Foundation.
“The Garden Party is a valuable asset to Oakland Community College,” says Timothy Meyer, chancellor of Oakland Community College. “The scholarship money raised at this event offers a much needed bridge to student success. Without this generous donation, the road to degree completion would be much more difficult.”
The checks were awarded at the foundation’s main fundraising event, The Garden Party, at Meadow Brook Hall. The Garden Party Foundation is a charitable organization that provides trade school scholarships to underprivileged adults.
Since its inception, the foundation has raised over $1 million for local charities and trade schools.
