Foster Swift Attorney Earns Top State Award

FARMINGTON HILLSJulie I. Fershtman, a shareholder with Foster Swift Collins & Smith PC, was selected as the 2014 recipient of the State Bar of Michigan’s Michael Franck Award, an annual award given to an attorney who has made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of the profession.

Fershtman, of Franklin, is a past president of the 43,000-member State Bar of Michigan. She practices in the areas of general insurance defense, insurance coverage, business litigation, premises liability, sporting and recreational liability, and equine law. Additionally, she is a trustee of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and a trustee of the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society. She is also a Fellow of the American, Michigan, and Oakland County Bar Foundations.

She received her Bachelor in Arts from Emory College and her J.D. at Emory Law School, both in Atlanta.
