Former General Motors Co. Terry Rhadigan has joined the Detroit Regional Chamber as a strategic advisor.
In this role, Rhadigan will support the chamber’s efforts to better communicate with and serve Michigan’s corporate and automotive c-suite leaders, supporting all of the chamber’s assets, including MichAuto and the MichAuto on the Island event.
“As a long-time friend of the chamber and well-respected corporate leader, Terry’s expertise in communications, public relations, and reputation with c-suite executives will be invaluable to the organization’s growth as the largest business organization in Michigan,” says Sandy K. Baruah, president and CEO of the Detroit Regional Chamber. “The entire chamber looks forward to welcoming Terry and embracing the fresh perspectives and insights he will contribute to the chamber’s vision.”
Rhadigan was a partner of the chamber for many years during his career at GM. In his years there, he advised top leadership on corporate communications strategy and public affairs, providing counsel to many of the most important business leaders in the automotive industry.
“I’m excited to be part of the chamber team and contribute to the vital work they’re doing to help Detroit and Michigan retain their rightful place as leaders of the global economy,” says Rhadigan.
As a senior representative of GM, Rhadigan played a leading role in launching the partnership with the chamber to create the chamber-led NeighborHUB grant program, which provides funding and operational support to nonprofits and small businesses in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. Rhadigan also is a graduate of the chamber’s Leadership Detroit program and has been a sponsor of and speaker at many chamber events over the years.
In his career, Rhadigan served in multiple executive leadership roles at GM in the areas of communications and corporate giving and continues to hold numerous board and volunteer positions with organizations in the Detroit region, including the Automotive Hall of Fame, the Detroit Economic Club, The Parade Co., and the Detroit Sports Organizing Corp., where he serves as chairman.
