DETROIT — The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant and Museum have “adopted” two cars — a 1907 Ford Model K and a 1905 Ford Model F — now on display at the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey, Pa.
The AACA “Adopt-A-Car” program helps maintain the museum’s inventory of more than 80 historic vehicles.
“All of the surviving cars built at Piquette are very special to us and when we found we could support some of them through the Adopt-A-Car program we immediately wanted to participate,” Paul James Sloan, corporate secretary for the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant and Museum, said.
Mark Lizewskie, executive director of the AACA Museum added, “We’re thrilled that Ford Piquette has chosen to foster two of our Ford cars through the Adopt-a-Car program. We house a complete collection of the ‘Pre-T’ Alphabet Ford cars, and because these cars were built at the Piquette Plant, it is appropriate to have the plant’s involvement in our program. Piquette is a perfect and most fitting parent.”
