DEARBORN — Ford and Microsoft will appear at the Future in Review Conference (FiRe) this week in Laguna Beach, Calif. to demonstrate how the 2012 Focus Electric’s technologies can help address future global transportation challenges.

The Focus Electric can charge in half the time of Nissan Leaf due to the car’s higher-capacity on-board charger and at a reduced cost thanks to Microsoft’s value charging technology.

The executives are joining other technology leaders at the conference through Friday, May 25.

“Ford and Microsoft continue to demonstrate the importance of marrying automobiles with  creative technologies such as the features built into SYNC and MyFord Mobile that help people stay connected to their digital lives,” says Sheryl Connelly, Ford Global Trends manager.

The Focus Electric will be available in 19 markets across the U.S. by summer’s end, nationwide by the end of the year. More information about Ford’s vehicle lineup can be found online at media.ford.com.
