Ford Hospital Physician Honored with Presidential Citation

DETROIT —  Emanuel Rivers, vice chair and research director of Henry Ford Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine has received a presidential citation from the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Rivers is recognized for his research in severe infection, critical care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. His research was published in the New Englad Journal of Medicine and is under adoption by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Rivers, of Franklin, completed a residency in emergency and internal medicine and a fellowship in critical care medicine. He is a senior staff physician in the Emergency Department and Surgical Intensive Care Unit and is board certified in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and critical care medicine.
