In June, award-winning Chef Don Yamauchi joined the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit as executive chef. Already, he has introduced a new menu at the four-diamond Iridescence restaurant atop the hotel, and is putting his signature touch on several other casino food offerings like The Assembly Line Buffet, MotorCity Pit Stop, and Flames. Here, Chef Yamauchi profiles his new menu, speaks to the adventurous palate of Metro Detroiters, addresses regional food sources, and describes several upcoming food and drink pairings. Honored with many awards, Food and Wine magazine selected Yamauchi as one on the Top 10 new chefs in America.
