Flag Day Dedication Set for Tallest Flagpole in Michigan

George Matick Chevrolet in Redford Township is dedicating a massive new 154-foot-tall flagpole, the tallest in Michigan, and raising its own new 30 x 60-foot American flag on June 14, Flag Day. For support, a concrete base in the ground surrounds another 15 feet of the pole. The flag can be seen for miles, depending on viewpoint.

Along with the Dedication will be the event, “Pie at the Pole,” a community celebration to observe the day and the new flagpole. The official ceremonies will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run until 1 p.m.
