Farmington Hills-based H.W. Kaufman Group, a global network of insurance companies, has announced Richard S. Fusinski as chief information officer.
Fusinski will oversee strategy for information technology at Kaufman, lead short- and long-term planning, and oversee the execution of strategic projects for all 15 Kaufman companies.
“Hiring Richard not only reflects our commitment to recruiting outstanding talent, but also our focus on innovation in the industry and leveraging advanced technology and data analytics as a competitive advantage,” says Daniel J. Kaufman, executive vice president of H.W. Kaufman Group and COO of Burns and Wilcox, a Kaufman subsidiary. “In Richard we have found a partner to work closely with our executive team and field leadership in propelling our business forward, expanding the organization’s capabilities to better support the growth of our global team.”
With two decades of experience in IT leadership positions, Fusinski was most recently senior vice president and chief information officer for community banking at Flagstar Bank. He also spent time in IT consulting, software development, and data management.
“We have seen tremendous technological advances across the financial service industries, and this role is an opportunity for me to apply best practices and fresh thinking to innovating insurance tools and processes,” says Fusinski. “I look forward to joining H.W. Kaufman Group as they have heavily invested in technology to improve service to clients, and I will carry that progress forward by developing scalable, strategic solutions to keep us in tune with the ever-changing insurance industry.”
After earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Eastern Michigan University, Fusinski completed a Master of Business Administration degree in management and finance at the University of Michigan.
