SOUTHFIELD — Farbman group has partnered with Jackets for Jobs to launch Drive to Thrive, an initiative to collect more than 1,000 used business suits that will run from June 15 – 19. Participants are encouraged to drop off gently used suits for men and women at the Detroit and Detroit-area Farbman group office properties.

“We invite our business colleagues and neighbors — thousands of whom come through the doors of our properties every day — to join us in this effort,” says Andy Farbman, CEO of Farbman Group. “Together, we are helping to provide one of the resources needed so that individuals feel and look their best while seeking to re-enter the workforce and, ultimately, thrive.  For those who are cleaning out their closets during the change of season, it’s a perfect time to consider donating to this noteworthy program.”

Clothing donations should be dry-cleaned, washed or ironed, and on a hanger. In addition, all donations must be suitable for the workplace and in good condition, with no stains, moth holes, missing buttons, rips, tears, or broken zippers.

Basic colors such as black, brown, navy, and white are in great demand, but others are welcome. Jackets, shirts, dresses, and accessories are also appreciated. The organization has a special need for coats, umbrellas, and plus-sized suits for women and big and tall suits for men.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. Tax receipts are provided at request at each building management office unless otherwise noted. Drop-off boxes are provided in the lobby of each building.
