Heather Rivard, senior vice president of distribution operations at DTE Energy in Detroit, has become a member of the board of directors of the Association of Edison Illuminating Co. (AEIC). The committee was founded by Thomas Edison in 1885 that exchanges technical information and ideas for the electric energy industry.

“AEIC is honored to have Heather as a new member of our board of directors,” says Terry Waters, executive director of AEIC. “Her broad experience in the electric energy industry, coupled with her service on our Power Delivery Committee, position Heather well to be a valuable contributor to our leadership team. I’m confident that she will find her service on our board to be a valuable and gratifying experience.”

Rivard has served DTE for 25 years, currently overseeing the company’s electrical system including customer connections, system planning, electrical engineering, construction, tree trimming, and emergency responsiveness. Prior to her role as senior vice president, Rivard served DTE in strategic planning, customer service, procurement, warehousing, and facilities operations.

Rivard earned a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
