The Downtown Detroit Partnership has announced Lila Asante-Appiah as the organizations chief administrative officer.

The Downtown Detroit Partnership convenes business, philanthropic, and government partners to create a vibrant and resilient urban core for Detroit and the surrounding community. In this role, Asante-Appiah oversees all aspects of human resource management and organizational development for the DDP.

She will be responsible for providing oversight of DDP’s operational strategy and setting the organization’s direction for talent development and retention. Responsibilities also include the vital work of building and implementing foundational processes and procedures to support a diverse, equitable and inclusive (DEI) workforce that reflects the diversity of Detroit and DDP’s core values.

This role reflects Asante-Appiah’s more than 25 years of experience and expertise in nonprofit administration, human resources, diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI) and organizational development. Most recently, she served as the chief administrative officer for The Heat and Warmth Fund.

“DDP is committed to being accountable to the people of Detroit and the communities we serve. Lila brings a rich array of experience that aligns with DDP’s core values,” says Eric Larson, CEO of the DDP. “She has a proven track record of advancing strategies for deepening and strengthening talent development and performance through a DEI lens. She is a great addition to the DDP team. I could not be more pleased to have Lila as a partner to help guide, shape, and drive DDP’s success.”
