Downtown Detroit Partnership Adds New Leadership

DETROIT — The Downtown Detroit Partnership has named Kelly Kozlowski as chief operating officer and Gina Cavaliere as DDP’s Business Improvement Zone director.

DDP, formed by corporate, civic and philanthropic leaders, develops and implements innovative programs and initiatives to enhance the Downtown neighborhood.

The BIZ, established last year, is a public organization that contracts for services with the DDP.

Kozlowski, left, will oversee the day-to-day operations and policies of the company and manage various strategic initiatives. Previously, Kozlowski, of Birmingham, spent five years at Automation Alley, starting as a client coordinator and later becoming communications officer, director of public affairs, and eventually serving as senior director. Kozlowski holds a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University.

Cavaliere will be responsible for leading BIZ startup and ongoing internal and external operations. She will also oversee the BIZ development of programs in close coordination with the BIZ board of directors, in particularly the new Downtown Clean Ambassador program. Previously, Cavaliere served as Wayne County Economic Department’s development officer and as deputy director. Cavaliere, of Warren, has led numerous publicly funded capital improvement projects. She received her juris doctor from Wayne State University Law School and Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.
