Dickinson Wright PLLC Expands Healthcare Practice

DETROIT – Dickinson Wright PLLC has expanded the firm’s healthcare practice in Southeast Michigan with the addition of five recognized leading practitioners in the healthcare industry. Attorneys Mark E. Wilson, James C. Foresman, Michael H. Allen, Carolyn Pollock Cary, and Rosanna J. Willis join Dickinson Wright’s national healthcare practice with attorneys practicing throughout the firm’s offices in Michigan, Nashville, and Washington, D.C.

Mark E. Wilson joins Dickinson Wright as a Member in the firm’s Troy office. Mr. Wilson focuses his practice in the areas of healthcare, environmental, and real estate. He is widely recognized in the medical and legal community for his ability to assist clients in securing quality control and streams of income from a variety of sources including an array of compliant joint ventures and medical “super groups”. He is also known for facilitating the implementation of My Doctor’s Inn, a HUD financed assisted living complex in Sterling Heights; the UnaSource Health “megamedaplex” medical buildings in Troy, Mich. as well as the WellPointe multi-specialty medical complex in Rochester Hills, Mich. Mr. Wilson is a member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Health Law Section and the American Health Lawyers Association. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers, and DBusiness magazine as a “Top Lawyer”. Mr. Wilson received his A.B. from the University of Michigan, his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and his LL.M. from Wayne State University Law School.

James C. Foresman joins as a Member in the firm’s Saginaw office. Mr. Foresman focuses his practice on providing regulatory and transaction services for hospitals, group practices, and professional healthcare providers. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Forum, the State Bar of Michigan’s Health Law Section, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, American Society of Law and Medicine, Health Care Compliance Association, the Saginaw Bar Association, and the National Health Lawyer’s Association. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law since 2010. Mr. Foresman received his B.A. from Western Michigan University and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

Michael H. Allen joins on as Of Counsel in the firm’s Saginaw office. Mr. Allen focuses his practice on healthcare, in particular business organizations including physician practices, and personal services, such as estate planning, trust, and probate administration. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Allen received his B.A. from Indiana University, his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and his LL.M. in Tax from George Washington University Law School.

Carolyn Pollock Cary joins Dickinson Wright as Of Counsel in the firm’s Saginaw office. Ms. Cary focuses her practice on healthcare, employment and labor, and commercial litigation. Her commercial litigation practice includes arbitration and civil litigation of contract disputes, business torts, non-compete agreements, and conflicts among parting members/shareholders in a variety of businesses. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and has written on healthcare law for publications. Ms. Cary received her B.S. from Eastern Michigan University and her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

Rosanna J. Willis joins on as Of Counsel in the firm’s Troy office. Ms. Willis focuses her practice on assisting healthcare providers and suppliers of all types with a variety of corporate matters such as operating agreements, bylaws, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements, and professional service agreements.She advises health industry clients on the structure of financial arrangements under the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Law, and maintaining effective compliance programs. She has significant experience with the State Certificate of Need Program and the corporate practice of medicine doctrine. Ms. Willis is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, Saginaw County Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association and the Health Care Compliance Association. She received her B.B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University and her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.
