The Republic Tavern and Parks and Rec Diner in Detroit have announced Matthew Baldridge as executive chef.
Baldridge will oversee both outlets. He most recently owned and operated Conserva in Ferndale and previously worked at Detroit’s Cliff Bells, The Rattlesnake Club, and Seldom Blues. His career began in Detroit about 20 years ago.
The teams at the Republic Tavern and Parks and Rec Diner will continue to work with Detroit-area growers and local farms to develop cuisine based on the season.
Both restaurants opened in Detroit in the Grand Army of the Republic building, located at 1942 Grand River Ave., in 2015. The Republic Tavern is open 5-9 p.m. Sunday, 4-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday, and 5:30-11 p.m. Saturday. Parks and Rec Diner is open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday-Sunday.
