Detroit’s Huron Capital Hires Partner, Human Capital

Huron Capital, a Detroit-based lower-middle-market private equity firm, has announced that Julia Kellogg has been named partner, human capital. Kellogg is to work with executives and human resources leaders at Huron Capital’s portfolio companies, leading talent management strategies.

Kellogg’s duties will include executive recruitment, assessments, succession planning, and performance management. Kellogg will also provide insight on organizational design, compensation, benefits, retention, and engagement matters.

“Julia brings 20-plus years of experience in human resources and human capital management expertise to Huron Capital,” says Peter Mogk, senior partner at Huron Capital. “She has worked in a variety of industries including automotive, manufacturing, publishing, advertising, and financial services/payment technology. We expect Julia’s leadership skills will translate into tangible benefits for our team members, portfolio companies, and investors.”

Before joining Huron Capital, Kellogg served as chief people officer at Troy’s North American Bancard Holdings for five years. She was also a human resources director at Valassis Communications in Livonia. Kellogg has also been invited to speak at conferences for her ideas and insights into her human capital projects.

Kellogg received her Bachelor of Business Administration in human resource management and organizational behavior from the University of Michigan-Flint, and she is certified as a professional in human resources as well as a certified professional through the Society for Human Resource Management.

She currently serves on the advisory board for Vista Maria and has served as president of the Detroit Society for Human Resource Management, board member of Hatch Detroit, and chapter vice president of ZONTA International.
