The Network of Women (NOW) Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Pathward in Troy, has announced Kelly Neubecker, vice president and senior legal counsel of the organization, as the winner of 2024 Empowering Women Award.

NOW created the Empowering Women Award to recognize individuals who demonstrate extraordinary commitment to embodying the ERG’s mission. These individuals spend their time empowering women and future generations both in their professional and personal lives. They go the extra mile to create a safe space for others, encourage community and develop others. NOW gathers peer-review nominations, then selects a winner.

Coming from humble beginnings, Neubecker credits her mother, a single parent of three, for encouraging her children to focus on their education to improve their economic situation. Neubecker loves Pathward’s purpose of financial inclusion and understands why there is a need for a bank like Pathward.

“I think we were all put here to help each other. That’s our main purpose in this life,” she says.

Neubecker was nominated last year as well as twice this year.

NOW’s mission is to empower women throughout Pathward who are seeking professional and personal growth, and to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in our communities at large. Any employee at Pathward is invited to join NOW, which now boasts nearly 200 members, and/or any of Pathward’s seven ERGs. Employee Resource Groups are one way Pathward provides intentional methods of helping employees connect with one another and have a feeling of belonging.
