ROYAL OAK — The Detroit Zoo will be offering its annual Summer Safari camp program to elementary school and middle school age children that begins June 23 and ends August 15.
This year’s program offers two new Summer Safari experiences: Zookeeper Camp and Conservation Camp.
Zookeeper Camp will familiarize campers with the knowledge and skills required to be a zookeeper and teach them about animal health, behavior, and nutrition.
Conservation Camp will allow campers to explore the role they can play in wildlife conservation, from helping animals in their own backyard to saving endangered species around the world.
Weeklong, full-day camp session are $250 for members and $270 for non-members. Weeklong, half-day camp sessions are $130 for members and $140 for non-members.
