Detroit Zoological Society Adds Four Board Members

ROYAL OAK — The Detroit Zoological Society has appointed Marvin C. Daitch, Virinder K. Moudgil, Robert G. Riney, and Christopher A. Wigent to a three-year term on its board of directors.

Daitch, a Farmington Hills lawyer, is president of Daitch Realty Company and retired principal and co-founder of NorthPoint Capital, a commercial mortgage banking group. He previously served as executive vice president and general manager of Arnold Drugs, a chain of 65 drug stores.

Moudgil is president and CEO of Lawrence Technological University, a position he has held since July 2012.  Prior to that, he was senior vice president and provost at Oakland University, where he led academic affairs from 2001 to 2012. He holds a Ph.D. in zoology-biochemistry.

Riney is president and chief operating officer of Henry Ford Health System. He oversees all hospital and service operations for the six-hospital health system consisting of more than 60 clinical locations, 24,000 employees and annual revenues of $4.2 billion.

Wigent is superintendent of Wayne County Regional Educational Service Agency, which provides educational programs for the county’s 34 public school districts and 109 public school academies. He also serves on a number of education and community boards.
