ROYAL OAK — Senior Citizens living in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties are invited to a free Senior Day at the Detroit Zoo from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 29.

Seniors 62 and older and a caregiver will receive complimentary admission and parking at the event, which will feature bingo, tram tours, live music, and zookeeper talks highlighting the zoo’s senior animal residents.

Senior Day takes place twice annually in appreciation for voter approval in 2008 of the proposal to keep the zoo. The fall Senior Day will take place on Sept. 9.
