Detroit Venture Partners' Josh Linkner to Receive Honorary Doctorate of Law at Walsh College's Commencement Ceremony

Walsh College will grant an honorary doctorate of law degree to its keynote speaker, Josh Linkner, CEO and managing partner of Detroit Venture Partners, during its 98th commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Jan. 28, at Zion Christian Church in Troy, Mich.

Linkner is an adjunct professor of applied creativity at the University of Michigan, in addition to his role at Detroit-based Detroit Venture Partners. He also is a The New York Times bestselling author of Disciplined Dreaming: A Proven System to Drive Breakthrough Creativity, named one of the top 10 business books of 2011.

Locally, Linkner is well known as founder, chairman and former CEO of Pleasant Ridge-based ePrize.

Linkner has been honored as a Champion of Change by President Barack Obama, Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young, and Michiganian of the Year by The Detroit News. Linkner is a regular columnist for Fast Company and Inc. Magazine, and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, USA Today and The New York Times.

Walsh also will award its first-ever doctoral degree, 190 bachelor’s degrees and 225 master’s degrees at the commencement. Paul Glantz, president of Novi-based Emagine Entertainment, will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Glantz, also president and CEO of Troy-based Proctor Financial, earned a master of science degree in taxation from Walsh in 1984.
