Detroit Seeks Proposals for Herman Kiefer Complex

DETROIT — The city of Detroit’s Planning and Development Department is seeking qualified development entities for the purpose of re-development of the site of the former Herman Kiefer Health Complex.

The site consists of 525,937 square feet of floor space and sits on 17.9 acres of city-owned land. The property is generally bounded by: Taylor Street, the Lodge Freeway, Blaine Street, and  Byron Street.

RFP/Q Packages will be available online detroitmi.gov (Planning & Development Department – “Requests for Proposals/Qualifications” Tab). Beginning today, interested individuals also can pick up an RFP packet at the Planning and Development Department, Real Estate Development Division at 65 Cadillac Square, 20th Floor, from 9 a.m- 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
 

A site walkthrough of the Herman Kiefer Complex will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon March 25, beginning at the main building entrance at 1151 Taylor St. A pre-bid meeting will be held the same day between 2-4 p.m. at the offices of Detroit Economic Growth Corp., 500 Griswold Street, Suite 2200.

Proposals must be submitted by:  3 p.m. April 11 to: City of Detroit, Planning and Development Department, Real Estate Development Division, 65 Cadillac Square, 20th Floor, Detroit, MI 48226, or by email submission to: RFPResponse@detroitmi.gov.
