Kathy Donovan, CEO of DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan, will have her role expanded to include Detroit Medical Center’s Group COO, as announced by the Detroit Medical Center (DMC).
In her expanded role, Donovan will oversee hospital operations, service line growth, efficiency, and nursing. She will work to enhance operations, clinical expertise, and build on key service lines to ensure a high standard of patient care.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Kathy for the past 18 months, observing her leadership style and depth of operational and clinical expertise,” says Brittany Lavis, interim CEO of the DMC. “In this role, I am confident that Kathy will continue to build upon her track record of leadership excellence and outcomes.”
She has more than 30 years of nursing experience, with most of her career spent in the field of critical care and emergency medicine for both adults and children. For more than 20 years, she has been in health care administration, including her position at DMC before its expansion.
Donovan earned a master’s degree in nursing from Barnes Jewish College’s Goldfarb School of Nursing, and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Missouri Baptist University.
