DETROIT — The Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC) will host its DHDC Partners’ Networking & Fundraising Breakfast on April 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
The event, which is open to the public, will be held at DHDC’s community headquarters just west of downtown Detroit at 1211 Trumbull Street, Detroit, 48216. Since its founding, the DHDC has built strong partnerships with major corporate and community organizations to develop and operate sustainable programs for more than 5,000 students and families in Southwest Detroit. DHDC has developed new ways to address issues related to youth development, crime reduction, educational reform, health disparities, and environmental justice.
Offering computer labs, media arts programs, corporate mentoring, leadership development, and literacy, the DHDC provides services and skillsets for youth and families. Corporate and community partners include General Motors, Detroit Edison, Ideal Contracting, Consortium of Hispanic Agencies, Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center, among others.
The Partners Breakfast will feature keynote speaker Esther Nieves, W.K. Kellogg Foundation program officer. Chuck Stokes of WXYZ, Channel 7, will serve as master of ceremonies. Before and after the program, guests can tour DHDC’s facility, meet students, and network with community members, educational leaders, and corporate partners.
