Detroit/Farmington Hills-based H.W. Kaufman Group, a network of insurance companies, has announced that Josh Hunegs will join the company as a corporate vice president.
Hunegs will work on a variety of financial and corporate projects, including investments, real estate, foreign exchange, premium financing, and acquisitions. He will also manage the investment portfolio for Atain Insurance Companies, a subsidiary of Kaufman.
“The size and scope of our global operations requires increasing sophistication and expertise in a number of financially oriented fields,” says Alan Jay Kaufman, chairman, president, and CEO of H.W. Kaufman Group. “Josh’s expertise will be an important asset in strengthening our team and fostering our continued global growth.”
Prior to joining Kaufman, Hunegs was most recently director at Wells Fargo, specializing in foreign exchange in Wells Fargo’s Chicago office.
“Kaufman continues to impress the insurance industry with their smart and strategic investments,” says Hunegs. “It is a privilege to join a family-owned business that continues to invest in its people, technology, and the future of the insurance industry. Being able to move to metro Detroit during this momentous time for the region, on top of having the chance to build upon two generations of successful leadership, made this a tremendous opportunity.”
Hunegs holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from American University. He previously served on the Wells Fargo International Diversity Committee and co-chaired the Job Enrichment Training Program. He volunteers with the United Way, Upwardly Global, and Junior Achievement.
