Detroit Electronic Movement Festival Lineup Announced

tDETROIT — The legendary Rap group Public Enemy will headline the 2012 Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit’s Hart Plaza on Memorial Day weekend along with renowned Chicago House-music DJ and producer Lil’ Louis. Detroit Techno-music icon The Wizard aka Jeff Mills will close out the festival.

tPaxahau Promotions Group today announces the three headliners—Public Enemy, Lil’ Louis, and The Wizard aka Jeff Mills—and a partial lineup of 50 other performances including Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Mr. Oizo.

tOn Saturday, May 26, Chicago-born House-music producer and DJ Lil’ Louis will take to the main stage to close out the inaugural night of the 36-hour festival.

tPublic Enemy’s headlining performance at Movement on Sunday, May 27 will be the first time the group has performed at the Detroit festival and it will be just a month before the scheduled release of their newest album: Most of My Heroes Still Don’t Appear on No Stamp.

tDetroit-born Techno DJ and producer The Wizard aka Jeff Mills will put the finishing touches on the three-day festival on Monday, May 28 on the main stage. He is looking forward to returning to his hometown for a performance at Movement.

With this announcement, we are well on our way to achieving our goal.”

tTickets for Movement are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting www.Movement.us. The cost for a three-day weekend pass is just $75 and grants festival-goers general admission access to the festival grounds with in-and-out privileges. The cost for a three-day VIP pass is just $200 and provides festival-goers with many extras that can be found on the web site.
