James G. Vella was elected chair of the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation and Detroit Economic Growth Association boards of directors.
Vella has served in a variety of executive leadership positions at Ford and as Visiting University Professor at the University of Michigan Dearborn. He also serves as executive committee member, United Way of Southeastern Michigan and chair, Smithsonian Institute Traveling Exhibition Services.
He is a member of the boards of Cass Community Social Services, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Enactus, Gleaners Community Food Bank and Health Alliance Plan.
