Detroit-based Attorney Dawn Patterson Elected Chair of State Bar’s Real Property Law Section

Dawn M. Patterson, a Detroit-based national commercial underwriting attorney with First American Title Insurance Co., was elected chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Law Section (RPLS).

Dawn M. Patterson, a Detroit-based national commercial underwriting attorney with First American Title Insurance Co., was elected chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Law Section (RPLS).

RPLS provides education and information about current real property issues through seminars, publications, and other forums.

Patterson has previously chaired the Michigan Land Title Association education committee and the Oakland County Bar Association’s real estate committee, and she has served as a board member of the Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers.

Patterson has been with First American Title for 17 years. Earlier in her career, she held
positions as state and regional counsel for another title insurer and she served as division
manager for an Internal Revenue Code Section 1031 qualified intermediary in Michigan.
Patterson received her Juris Doctor from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and
Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University.
