Detroit Bar Association Presents Shanna Kaminski with President’s Award

The Detroit Bar Association Barristers have named Shanna Kaminski, an attorney from Grand Rapids’ Varum, the winner of this year’s President’s Award.

The Detroit Bar Association Barristers have named Shanna Kaminski, an attorney from Grand Rapids’ Varum, the winner of this year’s President’s Award.

The award recognizes young attorneys who exhibits high standards of service in their profession, clients, and the public. She was presented with the award at the Detroit Bar Association’s Summer Breeze Celebration in July at the Detroit Shipping Co.

Kaminski focuses on bankruptcy-related litigation, business litigation, and debtor and creditor rights. She is also a member of Varnum’s Litigation and Trial Practice Team and the Banking, Finance, and Restructuring Practice Team.

She is a graduate of Valparaiso School of Law. Among her other responsibilities, Kaminski is the chair of the Debtor and Creditor Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association and the co-vice chair of the Debtor/Creditor Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar. She is also a member of the Alternative Finance Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Detroit Bar Association, and the Turnaround Management Association.

In addition, she is on the board of directors for several groups including the Consumer Bankruptcy Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, and the Michigan Network of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
