Detroit Author Awarded Bronze Medal for New Book

ROUND HILL, VA. — Detroit author and DBusiness blogger Josef Bastian was awarded the bronze medal by the Young Voices Foundation — honoring books and media that inspire, mentor, and educate young people and their families.

Bastian was recognized for Nain Rouge II: The Red Tide, part of a trilogy, displaying an emphasis on strong family values, originality, design, and quality of production. The story takes place in the Detroit Institute of Arts with a plot emphasizing teamwork and perseverance to overcome evil.

“Judges are especially pleased to review a title that will appeal to an otherwise reluctant reader,” said Bobbi Carducci, foundation director.

The judging panel includes published authors, editors, publishers, educators, young readers, parents, and family counselors.
