FARMINGHAM HILLS — Brian A. Kopitzki, D.O., has joined the medical staff at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills.
Kopitzki is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and is board certified in dermatology as well as internal medicine. His clinical interests include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, actinic keratosis, and surgical and non-surgical treatments of skin cancer.
He received his medical education from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing. Dr. Kopitzki completed a one-year internship and two three-year residencies (internal medicine and dermatology) at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. He then served a one-year fellowship, training in Mohs and dermatologic surgery in Iowa under the guidance of Roger Ceilley, MD, a former pupil of Dr. Mohs. He performed more than 1,400 cases during his fellowship.
Dr. Kopitzki has lectured at national meetings, is published in dermatologic literature, and is involved in several ongoing clinical research projects.
In addition to serving as an assistant clinical professor at MSUCOM, Dr. Kopitzki is a member several professional organizations, including the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
