BIRMINGHAM — Shift Digital, a digital marketing and advertising firm, will host the second annual Wish Upon a Derby fundraiser on Saturday to benefit Wish Upon a Teen, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teenagers dealing with life-threatening illnesses.
Now in its second year, this Kentucky Derby-themed event combines food and drinks, interactive games, music, a silent auction, raffle and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional derby attire — including hats for the ladies.
“The first Wish Upon a Derby was a huge success and we anticipate participation in this year’s event to be even greater,” says Ashley Cox, vice president of operations at Shift Digital. “We are excited for friends and family of Shift Digital to join the community for another fun day of watching the races, all while supporting an incredible cause.”
Proceeds from the event from 3-7 p.m. at The Bird & The Bread in downtown Birmingham, will directly impact Wish Upon a Teen’s mission to help teenagers with life limiting medical conditions. This includes support of various creative, social, and educational opportunities for these teens to rediscover and rebuild their self-esteem as they continue their journey to adulthood.
Tickets to the second annual Wish Upon a Derby are available now for $100 each. To purchase or make an additional donation to Wish Upon a Teen, visit wishuponaderby2015.eventbrite.com.
