The elevation of 22,841 feet.

Meeting Fava’s challenge were 15 individuals and area businesses, including several foundation board members and the college’s President Stan Jensen. They 15 raised the other $14,000.

Fava’s began his trek on Aconcagua, however, due to a case of the stomach flu at around 16,000 feet of elevation, he did not reach the summit. Fortunately, one of his teammates did and carried the HFC banner to the top of Aconcagua.

Fava is an adjunct instructor at HFC, where he has taught accounting. He also serves as an adviser to the college’s accounting department and has assisted in developing the college’s accounting curriculum.
