DeAngelis Diamond in Detroit has named Eric Risch to its Detroit team as director of business development. In his role, Risch is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a growth strategy that fosters authentic relationships, promotes effective collaboration, and ensures positive outcomes for our team members, clients, design partners, and trade partners throughout Michigan

With 25 years of B2B sales experience in the construction industry, Risch has built a reputation for driving growth in emerging and start-up regions, including the Pacific Northwest, Caribbean, and Alaska. A Michigan native, he returns to his home state bringing experience across high-profile industrial accounts — including Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, Boeing, Intel, and Ford Motor Co. — as well as commercial sectors such as health care, education, government, military, and auto dealerships.

In addition to his business development expertise, Risch has a background in construction. He previously owned and managed a general contracting firm, overseeing land acquisition, infrastructure development, and planned community projects. His expertise in architectural and engineering (AE) community engagement, design strategy, estimating, budgeting, and contract negotiations further strengthens his potential to drive success at DeAngelis Diamond.

“We are thrilled to welcome Eric to our team in the Detroit market.” Says David Kovalik, vice president and division manager of Michigan at DeAngelis Diamond. “Eric brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to building authentic, long-lasting relationships within the community. We are confident that Eric will help strengthen our presence in Detroit by fostering meaningful connections that will enable both our business and the community to thrive.”
