SAPA Transmission in Shelby Township has named retired Maj. Gen. Darren Werner as its new president.

As president, Werner will spearhead SAPA initiatives, foster modernization, and ensure the organization remains at the forefront of the defense industry. This role will benefit from his military record and ability to navigate complex challenges.

“I am thrilled to join the SAPA Transmission team as president,” says Werner. “I am deeply committed to building a strong foundation and guiding us through exceptional accomplishments. Our talented team will continue to grow, evolve and exceed expectations together.”

Werner’s appointment comes at a critical juncture for SAPA Transmission, according to the company, as it continues to be a prime contractor for advanced combat vehicles. His tactical insight and forward-thinking approach is expected to be instrumental in establishing ambitious goals.

Prior to joining SAPA Transmission, Werner held many positions, his final being commanding general of the U.S. Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), demonstrating his ability to deliver results. His specialization is advanced mobility solutions for NATO.
