DETROIT — The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, with support from the Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, awarded six grants totaling $178,491 to organizations that provide services to youth in the region.
Programs and organizations that received recent grants include:
- Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, Ann Arbor, $23,491. Support to deliver hands-on science programs to hospitalized children.
- Detroit Parent Network, Detroit, $25,000. Support for an early childhood development and literacy program.
- Eagle Sports Club, Detroit, $35,000. Support for the expansion of a literacy-tutoring program.
- Michigan Philharmonic, Plymouth, $30,000. Support to expand music education programming within the Wayne-Westland and Van Buren school districts.
- Racquet Up Detroit, Detroit, $25,000. Support for the expansion of a mentoring program of squash, academics and community service.
- Winning Futures, Warren, $35,000. Support for a school-based mentoring program in Pontiac.
Created as a permanent endowment, the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund provides support to nonprofit organizations in the seven-county southeast Michigan region, with a primary focus on charitable organizations and activities that assist in improving the lives of children and youth.
The fund represents a significant, lasting legacy to the DADA’s charitable commitment to southeast Michigan and has made more than 120 grants totalingmore than $3.69 million since its inception in 1998.
