Cyber Security Summit Scheduled in Novi

LANSING — The Department of Technology, Management and Budget will host the 2013 Michigan Cyber Summit on Oct. 25, where Gov. Rick Snyder will join other leaders in the state’s ongoing cyber initiative aimed at defending Michigan against cyber attacks and positioning the state to take advantage of opportunities in the growing cyber security industry. The summit will also serve as the host event for the second meeting of the National Governors Association Resource Center for State Cybersecurity Advisory Council.

 The event will be at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi.

Educational tracks for the event focus on:

• Government
• Education
• Home Users/Families
• Law Enforcement
• Business

“We are excited to host the second Michigan Cyber Summit,” Snyder said. “Families, businesses and governments all face challenges from cyber threats. We must stay vigilant and proactive. Bringing together public and private entities in a collaborative setting will help combat these threats and promote a strong cyber ecosystem.”
